FAQ

Material and Quality Information

1. What is 925 Sterling Silver?

925 Sterling Silver is an alloy composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. This combination makes it robust enough for jewelry creation, while maintaining high purity and a beautiful shine.

2. Is your jewelry hypoallergenic?

Yes, most of our jewelry is considered hypoallergenic. 925 sterling silver, high-quality stainless steel, and titanium are metals that rarely cause skin reactions. We do not use nickel, which is the main cause of allergies, in our alloys.

3. What is the difference between stainless steel and silver jewelry?

Stainless steel jewelry is known for its exceptional resistance to oxidation and rust; it does not tarnish and requires minimal maintenance. 925 sterling silver jewelry is a precious metal that offers a classic and refined shine, but may require occasional cleaning to maintain its brilliance.

4. What is Gold Plated jewelry?

A Gold Plated piece is a 925 sterling silver item that is coated with a thin layer of real gold through an electroplating process. This gives the jewelry the color and elegance of gold, while maintaining the solid 925 sterling silver base. The durability of the plating depends on the care and use of the jewelry.

Jewelry Care and Maintenance

5. How can I take care of my jewelry?

To keep your jewelry beautiful:

  • Avoid contact with harsh chemicals (perfumes, hairspray, chlorine).

  • Take off your jewelry before showering, bathing, or doing sports.

  • For 925 sterling silver, use a soft, specific silver cleaning cloth to remove tarnish.

  • For stainless steel and titanium, a simple soft cloth and lukewarm water are sufficient.

6. Can gold-plated jewelry lose its color?

Yes, with use and exposure to friction or chemicals, the plating can wear down. To extend its life, avoid contact with perfumes, creams, and excessive sweat.

Questions about Piercings

7. What size (gauge) should I choose for my piercing?

The most common size for many cartilage piercings (like helix, tragus) and for labrets is 1.2mm (16G). If you are unsure about the size, it is always best to consult your trusted piercer, as the size can vary based on the location and your original piercing hole.

8. Can I use your jewelry for a new piercing?

No, our jewelry is designed for fully healed piercings. For a fresh piercing, we recommend using jewelry advised by your piercer, usually medical-grade titanium, to promote optimal healing.
